WORK: logo design, branding
Show This is a Nashville-based consulting agency, offering combined decades of concert industry experience as a service to artists, venues, and promoters. They came to me for a logo design that had a scientific vibe -- relating to their approach to promotion, but something that was also content flexible and simple as well. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to create a modular logo set that worked as a banner, wireframe, box, and room. I thought it captured their vibe while still remaining modern and edgy.

David Bragg decided to start a buisness as a luxury travel advisor after years of traveling doing Quality Assurance as a Structural Engineer. As such, he likes things to be very clean and clear. He wanted his branding to be simple but have a lux and modern quality. I wanted to add a little extra flavor by having a logo mark above the logo type that could be used as this sunset/mountain/ocean frame, that I could also use as a framework to build icons/illustrations.

D. KIRK is Nashville-based photographer, artist and general incredible person. She creates these beautiful silk scarves from her slide-film photos, check them out here. She came to me wanting to refresh her branding; to have something that reflected her current direction with art and photography. She knew she wanted the logo hand rendered, and she showed me some things she was inspired by so I knew immediately that I wanted to create simple but interesting hand-drawn shapes to make the letters of her name. She is able to use the same set of shapes to do several different variations on her logo. We also worked on a cleaner, condensed font to use for other applications of her choosing.
Shout Happy is a local weaving company run by friend, Jennifer Kasdorf. She creates unique handwoven wallhangings, necklaces and general beautiful art pieces. She wanted a bold, black and white logo mark that featured hand rendered type.
I worked as the Senior Brand Designer for a Nashville-based tech company called Emma for many years when I first got out of school. I learned a lot of things and worked on a lot of great projects during my time there. Maybe the most important was reworking Emma's brand and logo in the midst of a very important time during the growth of this multi-million dollar local tech company. It was important to retain the character of the face that the brand was built upon, but make the mark relevant and modern. We were able to come up with a solution that made everyone happy and gave the company a refreshed look to make them more competitive in their marketplace. I am simply showing the logo transformation here.
